Persian Parade!!

Oh my god. I hate windows Vista. I wrote al lot in my blog and then when I wanted to post it, my windows freezeddddddddddddddddddddd. So I have to write again. Yesterday was Persian parade in Manhattan. It was so good. I went there with my family. Every year my family and I go to Persian parade. I like it because this day I can see lots of Persian people. Most of Persian people come and celebrate Persian New Year. They dance middle of street and everybody clap for them. Parade was supposed to start at 10 pm, but it had delay and started at 12pm. The weather was cold, but the sun went and came between buildings. When we wanted to leave, I couldn’t move because my feet were freezed. They numbed from a cold!! We took lots of pictures. I wish I can put all of them here, but I don’t know how many pictures we can put here!! I hope when I want to post this journal, the windows doesn’t freeze again. If it will freeze, I am going to kill my self and this windows.

My Birthday with the Gorgeous Cake!!

Wow this is great. I love that when I share my opinions and something happen in my life with you guys, you take time, read them and give some suggestions to me. Especially thanks for Elaine and Man. I want to tell you about my birthday. Yesterday after I went to immigration, my sister, her friends and I went to NYC. We had so much fun. We went to Rockefeller center and we played ice skating. Oh my god it was too hard. This is the first time I played ice skating. I couldn’t control myself. I tired to see straight. If I saw down, I couldn’t stand up. Thanks god I didn’t fall down, but after that, my ankles had a lot of pain. Oh my god you have to see my face. It was so funny. One of my eyebrows was going right side and another one was going left side! After ice skating, we went to Starbucks to celebrate my birthday. We wanted to go other coffee shops, but because we were so tired, we couldn’t walk anymore. So I bought a small cake (blubbery coffee cake), but we didn’t have candles. So I put the small stick on top of the cake and put the paper of straw as flame. Oh! I put the picture of the cake here. As a result, I didn’t blow my candles. This is first time in my life that I don’t blow my candles. Overall, it was good. I think sometimes variety is good in our life!!

Great spring break but it’s not really great!!

Haha that is funny. Since 1 month ago I have waited for spring break because I wanted to wake up late. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut every day I woke up at 6:30 am in spring break like regular days. Every day for some reasons I have to wake up at 6:30. For example, yesterday I had to go to immigration for my green card, and today I went to Federal Plaza, and tomorrow I have to go another place for my visa :(. Oh my god why I don’t have time to take a rest! Tomorrow is my birthday, but I have to go to another organization for my green card. I wish we can celebrate my birthday in our class. Sorry maybe I have some bad grammar. I know it doesn’t matter if we have errors, but I’m so tired right now and I can’t concentrate very well. Thanks god nobody can see me now because I took a shower and my hair is coming up about two inches and I can’t open my eyes!! Have good night!

Just Sunday!

I think today was a day that nobody was in the street, just birds. I was so bored at home and my sisters, mom and I went outside to have fun, but I got bored more because I didn’t see people in the street. Finally, we decided to go to Starbucks to drink some coffee with cake. Also, it was interesting because some people came to Starbucks with fancy dresses and just for restroom!! You can’t believe it, each 2 minutes people came with fancy dresses. They opened the door and went straight to the restroom. We were only the customer in the Starbucks. It was fun. Any way after that we came back home. My cousin, David, that I told about him in the class called us, and he with his wife and children came to our house. We ate dinner together and David explained about his funny patients that he has. Right now I’m so tired, and I want to go bed. Good night!

Persian New Year

Wednesday night was Persian New Year. We awoke at 1:48 am because that time was New Year. We danced, drank win and pried that we will have a good year.I feel old, because at any new year I tell to myself ahhhhhhhhhhh I get 1 year older!! Any way, that was very good, but I feel sad because my father wasn’t with us. Every Persian New Year my family celebrate together and I feel very happy. This is third time my dad is not with us. Although he called that night, but I still felt sad because I heard his sound, not saw him. For New Year we eat special food. We eat green rice with fish. It means during the year, we will have a good year with lots of fortune. I took the picture of Haft Sin that I explained it before. I hope every body will have a great year!!

Pre-Persian New Year!!

Tomorrow is Persian New Year or Norouz (it means new day), ( maybe Turkish guys in the class know about Norouz). I love Persian New Year because it says spring is coming. It is symbol of birds’ sounds, the smell of colorful flowers and sunny weather and no more snow. In each year the Persian new year is on March 20th , but each year it has different times. For example, tomorrow Persian New Year will be at 1:48 am. Any way, each year we celebrate it and we a tradition that set a table for the New Year. We put seven things on the table or whenever you want, and each thing has different meaning. Also, each thing has to start with S sound and that why we call “Haft Sin” (Seven S) this table. For example, we put some coins ( Seke in Farsi), apple ( Sib in Farsi), a kind of planet ( Sabze in Farsi ), a name of flower ( Sonbol ), a kind of Persian pastry (Samanoo), Vinegar ( Serke ), garlic ( Sir ) and put some others thing that each one has different meanings, but they don’t start with S in Farsi, such as a scriptures, mirror, painted eggs, candles, and also we put the bowl of gold fish. Each one of these is symbols of good things and we put them together that we will have a good year. Today my mom and I went to store and bought some of them, so I’ll take a picture later and show you the Haft Sin!!

Writing Center!!

Today I went to the writing center. It was first time that I liked the professor. Her name was Finneran (I’m not sure about spelling). She was so nice. She took a time and worked with me. Thx god she was not old. She had a very nice smile. She is professor of 030. I think she knows how to communicate with a student, and she can understand the problem in spite of some other professors in the writhing center. Also, she told me that we don’t worry about articles or some complicated sentences, and just makes it simple (like Ashley and Elaine told us). They are right, but I don’t know why sometimes I can’t write the simple sentences!! I know most of us have this problem; otherwise we could pass the placement test !! Any way, I hope everybody keep going to writing center and try some professors, and you can find out which one of them is the best. It really helps you guys.

I think this is a good idea that we can post our journals and see each other's journal.
First I think maybe it is hard to write anything you want and then everybody can read them, but now I think we will have so much fun and share our ideas with each other.
